Abstract:

One of the important issues in the production of concrete is environmental variability that affects the concrete and elements constructed from this material. Due to the importance of different characteristics of concrete in short- and long-term conditions, this article aims to investigate the influence of initial Temperature conditions of self-compacting concrete on its long-term characteristics and determine the initial optimal Temperature of concrete. For these purposes, several experiments under three Temperature conditions of 5, 20, and 40 degree-of-Celsius were conducted to evaluate the rheology and mechanical properties of fresh concrete in the range of 7 and 28 days. In these experiments, alternative mineral admixtures of cement such as micro-silica, fly ash, and zeolite were used to build the concrete specimens. Results demonstrate that the mechanical properties of the specimens increase with increasing initial Temperature in the short term, while such properties significantly decrease in the long term compared to the specimens constructed under lower initial Temperature. Moreover, the fluidity of self-compacting concrete increases with increasing initial Temperature.

(Percentage of non-overlapping data) PND

Abstract:

It is predicted that the average world Temperature will rise by 1.5 ºC in the next few decades, which may adversely affect vegetable productivity and global food security. The present study aimed to identify lettuce genotype(s) that are tolerant of heat stress so that they may be good candidates for future breeding programs to develop heatstress-tolerant lettuce cultivars. While using a complete randomized design with three replicates, we evaluated the performance of eight lettuce genotypes using a hydroponic system under non-stress (controlled) and heat stress (high Temperature) environmental treatments. The effects of environmental treatments on the morphophysiological and agronomic characteristics of the genotypes were assessed. Ten traits were recorded after harvest, i.e., the number of leaves, plant height, root length, yield, fresh root weight, plant weight, leaf area, leaf width, leaf length, and chlorophyll contents. In general, lettuce genotypes cultivated under heat stress exhibited decreased performance in most traits compared to the non-stress treatment group. The yield of SAL092, SAL093, SAL094, SAL095, SAL096, SAL097, and SAL099 decreased by 65.8%, 66.4%, 65%, 28.2%, 40.6%, 76.3%, and 73.1%, respectively, under heat stress. In contrast, SAL098 grown under non-stress conditions showed higher yield, leaf count, root length, plant weight, and plant height by 0.1%, 15.2%, 0.9%, 4%, and 27%, respectively, compared to non-stress conditions. In addition, during heat stress, every trait exhibited a positive correlation with yield, except leaf width, suggesting that productive attributes are crucial for enhancing yield under high-Temperature conditions. SAL095 and SAL098 exhibited effective adaptive mechanisms and may be regarded as potential heat-tolerant genotypes for future breeding programs and developing heat-tolerant cultivars and high yields.

Abstract:

In this investigation a non-equilibrium thermodynamic model of the Temperature dependent biological Growth of a living systems has been analyzed. The results are derived on the basis of Gompertzian Growth equation. In this model, we have considered the Temperature dependent Growth rate and development parameter. The non-equilibrium thermodynamic model is also considered for exploring the variation of Growth rate with Temperature. The biological Growth process of a living system near the threshold Temperature has been studied. The Growth rate has been taken as general function of Temperature. The analytical solution has been obtained by solving differential equation governing the model. The solution of non linear equation provides an expression for biomass of the living systems at a time t, which is valid for a Temperature near the threshold Temperature. The numerical experiment has been conducted to exhibit the effects of various parameters on Growth. The physical conditions of a living systems for different value of activated constant energy and gas, has been examined.

Abstract:

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an important opportunistic nosocomial pathogen, causing some infections particularly in immunocompromised patients.Chemical composition of this organism alters with variation in Growth Temperature. Alteration in fatty acids, proteins and lip polysaccharide (LPS) of this organism was studied. In analysis of fatty acid methyl esters, 11 fatty acids of 12:0, 14:0, i-15:0, 15:0, 16:0, 16:1, i-17:0, i-17:1, 17:0, 18:0 and 18:1 were identified. The most abundant fatty acid was i-15:0. Other abundant fatty acids were 16:0, 16:1, i-17:0 and i-17:1.In electrophoretic analysis of whole cell proteins, bands of c. 65, 55, 42.5, 26 and 21.5 kDa were increased with increasing incubation Temperature, and intensity of c. 30.5 and 24 kDa bands were increased with decreasing incubation Temperature. In LPS analysis, molecular weight of a-specific chain in ladder pattern decreased with increasing incubation Temperature. The role of increasing unsaturated fatty acids with decreasing Temperature to maintain membrane fluidity and. some of proteins in permeability to some antibiotics and also LPS alteration with changing Temperature are discussed.

Abstract:

To investigate the response of corn to combined application of chemical fertilizers with rhizobacteria plant Growth promoting, an experiment was conducted in 2017 at Research farm of Agricultural and Natural Resources Campus of Tehran University, Karaj, Iran, in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Four nutritional treatments including T1 (Control treatment without applying fertilizer), T2 (Just PGPRs), T3 (Use chemical fertilizers based on soil test) and T4 (T3 + PGPRs) were considered. According to the results, the highest total dry weight (3.9 kg/m2), crop Growth rate (79.8 g.m-2.day-1), net assimilation rate (15.3 g.m-2.day-1) and grain yield (18.2 ton.ha-1) were observed in T4 treatment and T2 treatment produced the highest  leaf area index (5.3), leaf area duration (205.2) and specific leaf weight (78.5 g.m-2) . Also, the lowest value of all traits was observed in in T1 (control) treatment. The results showed that the presence of rhizobacteria plant Growth promotioninduction in the corn nutrition program increased the Growth and Growth indices of the plant. Combined application of chemical fertilizers with rhizobacteria plant Growth promoting resulted in the highest Growth and final grain yield of corn.
